LBBC is seeking to hire a Manager, Digital Community, who will play a central role in shaping, growing, and sustaining LBBC’s digital community platform, where LBBC constituents interact with each other and participate in LBBC programs. This role is responsible for stewarding Flourish, LBBC’s proprietary online community platform which is hosted on Mighty Networks, while also leading broader digital community engagement and social listening efforts across LBBC’s digital channels. The ideal candidate is an experienced digital community professional who understands not only how platforms function, but how trust, participation, and connection are built over time. This individual will bring both creative thinking and experience with hands-on engagement to ensure that our digital community is a meaningful extension of LBBC’s mission and an integrated part of LBBC’s programs, outreach, and communications.
LBBC is headquartered just outside Philadelphia in Bala Cynwyd, PA and is a hybrid workplace. This position will require occasional in-office meetings and work.
Key Responsibilities
Audience Engagement and Community Management
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop, implement, and evolve LBBC’s digital community engagement across platforms, with Flourish as the primary hub for connection and engagement.
- Actively moderate and engage in community discussions, share relevant and trusted content, and foster a community environment that is welcoming, supportive, respectful, and inclusive.
- Monitor trending topics and new ideas across various social media platforms, including but not limited to Flourish, Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, and other breast cancer digital communities.
Collaboration, Expertise, and Training
- Collaborate with Educational Programs, Special Events, and Outreach teams to connect in-person experiences with ongoing digital community, as well as translating online community connections to in-person meet-ups.
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert on Flourish and Mighty Pro, including monitoring platform features, updates, and capabilities and advising on how they can support engagement, learning, and inclusion.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years’ experience moderating large, diverse online communities on Mighty Networks, Discord, Reddit, Slack, or other forum/discussion-based community platforms; cancer or other healthcare-related communities preferred
- Proven experience building and/or growing an online, discussion-based community
- Creativity and a proactive approach to addressing moderation issues and developing engagement opportunities
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills
- Proficiency in Mighty Networks preferred
- Genuine interest in the healthcare sector, patient advocacy, and/or oncology
COMPENSATION
The salary range begins at $65,000 per year. LBBC offers a comprehensive benefits package including:
