LBBC is hiring a Director, Industry Partnerships who will support our fundraising efforts from pharmaceutical and related companies. These companies support our efforts to deliver programming to our community and account for approximately half of our annual revenue. The person in this position will work with our internal leaders to formulate plans and proposals and will be responsible for submitting those proposals to funders. This person will also track proposal submissions from conception to execution and reporting. The successful candidate will hold a central role in managing these processes that are key to LBBC delivering education and services to our community.


LBBC is headquartered just outside Philadelphi in Bala Cynwyd, PA and is a hybrid workplace. This position can be fully remote, but priority will be given to candidates based in the Greater Philadelphia region. General working hours are 9am to 5pm Eastern with the flexibility to work outside of these hours as needed.


KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Manage a portfolio of pharmaceutical and life science funding partners that support LBBC's mission and programs in the range of $5,000 - $100,000.
  • Identify potential new business prospects, leveraging network of supporters including Board of Directors, Medical Advisory Board Members, as well as cold outreach efforts, to share with the Executive Leadership Team for further pursuit. 
  • Manage the annual solicitation of sponsorships and other educational programs with the support of a grant writer.
  • Work in collaboration among the development special events team to source event sponsorships for the organization. 
  • Manage the full fund-raising cycle, including meeting planning, engagement of key internal stakeholders, proposal and presentation development, and submission of evaluation reports generated by the Mission Delivery team to share results achieved.
  • Build strong partnerships with the Mission Delivery and Content/Marketing teams to ensure execution of partnership deliverables, while being the primary point of contact with external partners.
  • Support the Executive Leadership Team with regular status reports, trend analyses, new funding possibilities and revenue projections.
  • Act as an external ambassador for the organization, staying current with mission priorities and engagement opportunities that can bring prospects closer to the organization's mission.  
  • Maintain knowledge and savvy of industry giving landscape, including company interests and priorities; acting as corporate giving expert to internal stakeholders across organization. 
  • Manage a grant writer who will be responsible for writing proposal drafts, maintaining a calendar of key events and solicitation time periods, managing an organization-wide sponsorship tracking form and monitoring performance metrics.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5-10 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, experience fundraising from pharmaceutical/life sciences industry preferred
  • Proven track record of securing funds to support health-related nonprofit programming; ability to manage multiple funders and sponsors simultaneously required
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and focus
  • Expertise in developing comprehensive partnership and sponsorship proposals
  • Ability to effectively manage a fundraising process with multiple internal players, including creating forecasting and reporting on key performance indicators
  • Ability to manage staff members and work across an organization with multiple departments
  • Ability to work independently once trained, taking concepts and bringing them to execution
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry (drug development, biotech, medical advancement, etc.) and breast cancer
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Travel domestically 2-4 times per year for conferences and partner meetings


SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS

The salary range for this position begins at $90,000 per year. LBBC offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401(k) with organizational match, and paid time off.
