LBBC is hiring a Senior Manager, Special Events who will play a key role in is responsible for event planning, coordination and execution of events, including but not limited to our signature fundraiser, the Butterfly Ball. Additionally, the Senior Manager, Special Events, assists with donor appreciation events and is assigned to manage relationships and provide special support to Peer-to-Peer fundraisers who raise $5,000 or more. This position manages a special events coordinator who assists with event logistics, conducts outreach for auction items, drafts an electronic tribute album and executes outreach and thank you processes to Peer-to-Peer fundraisers.  This position also manages a Butterfly Ball consultant who coordinates all “run of show”, day-of event aspects including load-in of event elements and coordination with the caterers, A/V and other vendors.

 

This person must be able to travel to events and other meetings held throughout the Greater Philadelphia region (valid PA drivers' license and car required)

 

LBBC is headquartered just outside Philadelphia in Bala Cynwyd, PA and is a hybrid workplace. Candidates must be based in the Greater Philadelphia region and be able to work from our office several days per week.

 

Key Responsibilities

Annual Gala Fundraising and Donor Cultivation

  • Direct the creation of a gala website that includes details of the event (honorees, co-chairs), sponsors and contact information to receive sponsorship benefit package
  • Manage the logistics of a donor cultivation event leading up to the Gala (the Preview Party)
  • Manage all event logistics i.e. registration, dietary restrictions, check-in, seating, etc.)
  • Oversee auction operations to ensure high quality items, manage donor acknowledgments, and coordinate item fulfillment for winners (pickup or electronic) delivery.

 

Peer-to-Peer (P2P} Fundraising

  • Manage marketing promotions, recruitment strategies, and fundraising support for new and returning fundraisers interested in creating their own, or participating in, a grassroots community fundraising event.
  • Ensure the day-to-day stewardship and retention of new and returning LBBC P2P and DIV fundraisers and their donors, including managing a portfolio of high-capacity fundraisers.
  • Manage post peer-to-peer and individual fundraising follow-up, including donor and fundraiser acknowledgments, survey distribution and analysis, feedback integration and retention efforts.

 

Managing Development Operations and Revenue Tracking

  • Update a regular progress-to-goal report and event revenue dashboard for the Vice President, Development and provide actionable analysis.
  • Ensure accuracy in all event data input, records, and reports.
  • Work closely with the Director of Development to ensure data integrity.

 

Organization Support

  • Support the Vice President, Development in managing and executing LBBC's development and stewardship plans to achieve annual revenue goals.
  • Contribute positively to LBBC's organizational culture and lead with LBBC's values and commitment to equity.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and at least 5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, including 2 years of experience at events.
  • Demonstrable experience successfully managing fundraising events and peer-to-peer fundraisers to meet or exceed fundraising goals.
  • Strong computer application skills including word processing, spreadsheet, planning, scheduling, and database programs.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Requires domestic travel to events, valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
  • Interest in breast cancer and women’s health in general
  • Passion for health-related matters, patient advocacy, and/or oncology, a plus.

 

COMPENSATION

The salary range begins at $75,000 per year. LBBC offers a comprehensive benefits package including:
